| Pierre Girieud formerly painted Christs on yellow backgrounds. He returned from a regrettable eccentricity and his somewhat cold classicism assigns him an enviable place in modern painting. However, for the curves and the bold shapes of the model he gives us at the Salon d'Automne, we regret the ties of the neck and the too protruding collarbones which are a contrast with the whole of the very beautiful and very fat piece. |
