| Two men really dominate ....
Mr. Girieud whose panel, the Three Graces, were a pleasant surprise. Mr. Girieud had not always been happy in his efforts: his acid tones and his lean design were really discouraging. But his work this year - we say work, on purpose, because that's the right word - is unquestionably a noble, beautiful and serious thing. The design is solid, the colors balanced and superb performance, the whole extremely harmonious. Mr. Girieud, without hype and without bluff, is becoming a great artist. |
