Contained about Girieud
(...) In the Druet galleries alone, there have been eight or ten events that the slightly sensitive visitor will not soon forget. Let us note some of them. (....) We had the spectacle of the most recent productions by Georges d'Espagnat and Pierre Girieud: rare and very rare is such a celebration. (...) Pierre Girieud is great. No one feels with such an enthusiastic male the sober majesty of the Provençal sites populated with ancient ruins or banks that Virgil would recognize. He takes them within hours in oblique light, to better identify the noble framework. Its slightly ascetic color, drawing on monochrome, it seems at first glance, is calculated to contribute to this impression of style. It is the accents of force that initially strike even in his portraits, severe but very incisive. From the ground contemplated by his amazed eyes naturally spring, as in the landscapes of Poussin, gods who define and complete the aspects. An amazing elder who is today the brother of Charles Maurras and Joachim Gasquet.
