| On the occasion of the tercentenary of the University of Poitiers, the State chose Mr. Pierre Girieud to entrust him with the important and difficult task of decorating the large hall of the faculties. This generous effort to revive the traditions of decorative painting at a time when their resurrection is a daring undertaking was submitted to the public at the Musée de l'Orangerie des Tuilerie in early June.
