| Other authors have been concerned with the technique of the works. Mr. P. Girieud, who is a painter, published talks on the fresco he made at the School of Fine Arts in Cairo. He has very clearly explained the way in which the ancients painted, he considers that the painting on fresh mortar is not the real fresco, that it requires more material, and he draws on the famous work of Cennino Cennini and on the examples of medieval Italy to explain his method.
